How about Pink?

055

It has been silent here, hasn’t it? I’m sorry it took so long for me to come back, but I really needed this period of ‘quiet’. My company existed mainly of books, and occasionally some yarn and a hook. Slowly things are getting back to normal and what makes me very happy is to be able to walk with Fleur again. Still very slowly; so Fleur is looking over her shoulder all the time to see if I’m coming.

Long time ago I made a blog post about the colour pink and especially about me having trouble with it. And look what is in our living room since a couple of weeks; exactly a PINK sofa and I really love it. Funny thing is that my husband is the one who has chosen the colour!

My blankets and pillows look just perfect on it, don’t they? But I think there is a lot of room for more.

The shape is perfect, the colour is boring so guess what I’m doing?

Small squares, joined with the as-you-go-method. The colours are used randomly. Great project to get back into the mood. I’ll show next time how I’ll finish it.

Then there was a question from my mom. Every week a wonderful woman comes to help her clean the house. And of course my mom wanted to give her a special Christmas present; so she asked me to make her a Happy Colours Cowl, but if possible a long one that can be wrapped around the neck twice. So here it is:

And talking about Christmas: I thought it would be nice to keep one of my family’s traditions and bake  some little waffles.

The only problem is that I don’t think they are going to make it to Christmas; I’ll have to make another batch.

Before I stop I want to thank all of you who left a comment after the passing away of my mother-in-law. It is really heartwarming to read your words.

  4. Wonderful to see you back, Dorien - and yes, there are times when we need to 'hibernate' for a while. Good to hear your leg is healing.
Love the sofa!! and your work looks fabulous on it - the cowl is beautiful, and those peggy squares are intriguing.
