Hello! Thank you for all your kind comments on my last post. Usually I try to respond to each and every single comment in person, but this week was so strange that all I wanted to do was crawl under a big warm blanket and leave the world outside. Nothing serious, I just wasn’t very happy with myself.
So I took my yarn and hook and finished a new blanket. I started with hexagons arranged using the colour circle as a guide.
Starting in the left upper corner going round clockwise: blue, purple, red, orange, yellow, green, back to blue. Because I wanted to let the colours kind of flow, I used the colour circle, and I arranged the hexagons as I described here.
Because this wasn’t large enough for a nice blanket, I made two exact the same pieces.
The piece on top was turned and both pieces sewn together.
This way the colour sequence is still according to the colour circle, but not in a way which looks forced.
This blanket was made with Drops Safran (I know, I use it a lot!!), and measures 125 x 135 cm (49 x 53 inch), it weighs approximately 1350 grams, and I used 16 skeins of white, and every colour available except black, brown- and grey shades.
The only thing I’m still wondering about, is whether it needs a border or not.
By now, my couch is starting to look very colourful; maybe I should make some solid coloured pillows?
Have a great weekend!

How about no border, but filling in the big gaps with half-hexes down the sides? Gorgeous blankie.

ReplyDeleteIk wilde eigenlijk hetzelfde idee geven als mijn bovenbuurman Rob.
Geen border, en de zijkanten recht maken met halve hexagons.
Je hebt er een nieuwe volger bij :-)
