Hello ladies! This week the weather is a bit like a roller coaster; yesterday is was 30 degrees, now ‘only’ 19, which is about average for this time of year. I can only hope it will stabilize somewhere this summer, but I guess that wouldn’t be really Dutch, would it?
I thought it would be nice to give you a little update on my hexagon blanket.
What I’m doing is gradually changing the colours. This means starting with a hexagon with only one colour, let’s say yellow:
Then adding one colour, first for the first round , then for 2 rounds:
With a third colour I make a hexagon with three different rounds, and then again like the three above.
Going on like this, with darker shades in the same colour range, you can get something like this:
I’m almost done with crocheting the hexagons, so every day I sew on a few of them.
Groetjes, Dorien
I'm loving this one Dorien, such a clever and beautiful use of colour!
ReplyDeleteWauw, deze wordt ook weer prachtig!!
ReplyDeleteHow very clever of you to do this. It would look great when it all comes together!! Wonderfully done :)
ReplyDeleteWow! What a beautiful use of colour! Liefs Else
ReplyDeleteGorgeous ! Love the way you are putting your colors together :)
ReplyDeleteoh daar komt iets heel moois tevoorschijn!
ReplyDeleteHeel mooi en omdat je elke hexagon in dezelfde kleur tint haakt oogt het ook rustig.

It's very smart to do the colors that way. You are a good designer.
ReplyDeleteO, dat ziet er weer heel erg veelbelovend uit...... :-)
ReplyDeleteThat looks fabulous - I am looking forward to seeing the project completed.

Hi Dorien! I love colours and it's always great to see new ways to mix them. You had great idea to have lots of shades and your work will be so beautiful - like from painter's palette! x Teje
ReplyDeletePs. white is so good with them; when I painted my white was always finished because I used it so much.
stunning, I LOVE this, you are so so clever
ReplyDeletePrachtige kleuren
ReplyDeleteI think that we have pretty similar weather. June has been a mix of cool weather, wet weather and extremely wet weather. Thank you for the pictures while describing your hexagon design, it really made it easy to follow. Great job mixing colors, using the first round and then the second.

Wow, I love it!!! I may try to do it, but I'd better start now so I've finished by next summer... By the way, is there any pattern for these hexagons? They don't look like difficult, but I always feel more confident with a pattern/tutorial. I'll came around! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAlso a verry nice blanket!! I wouldnlike to buy one for the babyroom!
ReplyDeleteYour blanket is very beautiful. I especially like the way you arrange and use all colors.
