It seems like Summer finally arrived. The last few days have been really great with lots of sunshine and warm weather.
Every morning when I open the curtains in our living room, this is what I see:
And I’m not the only one who likes it.
So a few days ago, I was wondering what kind of project I would start that day, and when I saw these beautiful flowers, I knew: Pink Roses.
Now you may know, that pink is not really my favorite colour. Not because I don’t like it, but I find it quite hard to work with. So there I had my challenge!
I picked a few pink fabrics to start with.
The first is a beautiful rose, which I wanted to use just the way it is.
The next is a woolen herringbone tweed, and on top you see pink alcantara.
I quilted the rose to give it more dimension.
And after a few days of sewing, this is what I ended up with.
Indeed, yet another bag. I guess I’m in some kind of ‘baggy mood’!
The binding is with a lovely purple, but it was so hard to capture the real colours in a picture. It is more subtle than this picture shows.
Even in the inside of the bag you can find roses.
A few ladies commented on my Green Acorn Bag that it was a bag in my own style. Even now I’ve used the same pattern, I think it came out totally different, because I didn’t embroider the front panel. But, even with the colours being a real challenge for me, I think the bag turned out great.

YES! This is so great bag again! I'm happy that you have found your own unique style; that's not always so easy. I love the fabrics and colours with the rose!
