Partir c’est mourir un peu

Welcome! Blogging is a strange thing. When I started this blog, I wanted to show and tell about my knitting and crocheting, and the reason to do this in English was to try to improve it. But somewhere along the road, I collected some great new friends, who actually read what I was babbling about, who gave me wonderful comments and feedback. And this made me also wishing, that I  could tell you more. But a big part of my life, is just not only my life, but also that of my family and I feel reticent to say too much about that. This means also, that in a week like the past week, there is a lot going on, but I can’t share that with you. I hope you can understand this.

Something I can share, is the fact that we had to say goodbye to our host son. After living with us for 10 months, he flew back to Chile yesterday. Every time it amazes me how attached one can get in only 10 months, and how much pain it gives, to say goodbye.
The boy travelled quite much in Europe, and every time he brought me the same souvenir. So now this is a constant reminder of our far-away-son.

Hopefully next time I’ll be back with some crafting.

Groetjes, Dorien

  2. Hi Dorien! I'm always happy to hear from you, if it's about crafts or something else! I think these are perfect souvenirs and reminders! I have been dreaming to get a collection, but lately never travel any where so my collection has only one Christmas present. I'm sure you miss your 'foreing son'! x Teje

  4. I love your collection of snowglobes, they look so quaint on your window sill. I am glad that having your boy from Chile worked out so well for you both.
