Organizing needles

When I learned to knit, a long time ago, I was taught to do it with long, straight needles. Not so great for the shoulders!
So it was just wonderful when I learned to use circular needles, and (short) dpns.  Now I hardly use long, straight needles anymore.

But: now I have a lot of dpns and circular needles, lying around in a drawer, and that is a bit of a mess. So it was time to figure out a way to organize them.

For this project I used only blue fabrics. I embroidered  little knitting design on the front,

added a zipper and a lot of pockets.

As you can see I there is enough room for 6 sets of dpns, and enough room for circular needles.

Because I like to have all I need at one place, I added also a lot of pockets for tapestry needles, stitch markers, scissors and other haberdashery.

The middle section, with the pockets for the circular needles is lined with a piece of cardboard. This is because those little needles are so fragile and break so easily. The cardboard gives the organizer enough stiffness to prevent that from happening.

  1. Geweldig Dorien! En wat leuk die geborduurde applicatie.

Je zal er veel plezier aan hebben. Ik heb een gehaakt haaknaalden hoesje en ik zou het niet meer willen missen, zo handig.

  3. Hi Dorien! Great work again! The best idea and really beautiful finish! I love also the blue colours and prints! I can't use anymore those long neeldes at all. All my circle needles are a mess in a box. Happy weekend! x Teje

  4. Mooi gedaan. Mag ik vragen waar je dat borduurpatroon hebt gekocht? Mijn moeder (en ik ) is er helemaal verliefd op.
