Catching up

So it has been 2 weeks since my last post, and I only found out about that this morning. In my mind it wasn’t that long at all.  I haven’t used my computer that much anyway these weeks. After deciding to make some changes in my life, I find it hard to find my own rythm, and apparantly I have to find a way to make time for blogging. I really want to keep doing this; it is so nice to share what I’m doing, and to read your comments.

In my previous post I’ve shown these fabrics too, but then with 2 skeins of yarn; so now you can see what I made with them.

A pair of socks for my mom. She is originally from the province of Zeeland, and the design on these socks is inspired by the fabrics used for the costumes in this province. My mom is having a hard time right now, so I thought it would be a nice idea to make her these. She always has cold feet; unfortunately a quality she has passed on to me.

Last time I also showed fabrics I was going to make blouses from. Bad luck for one of them. Mr. Murphy was sitting right next to me when I was making the first blouse (with the light fabric), and after undoing seam after the seam, the fabric became so damaged, I didn’t have any other choice than to stop with that blouse. I’ll keep the fabric to see if I can use it for smaller projects, but it will never become a blouse.

I’m really happy with how it turned out.The fabric is woven in a beautiful soft way, and I’m guessing this will be one of my favourite garments this fall. On it I’ve use quite large pinkish buttons.

And last but not least: today is ‘Lappendag’, a large market held every year. I’ve posted about this before, but that was a long time ago. Today I found samples for curtains. Not that I’m going to make new curtains, but I’m having lots of ideas for these.

The fabric on the left is going to be used for a new pillow for Fleur, who has already destroyed the las pillow I made her.
