It took me almost 40 years!

It has been almost 40 years since I learned to knit. An can you believe, I never, ever made a hat for myself?
I know that in a lot of places where girls learn to knit, they first make a scarf, then a hat and then mittens. But I never was in such a place. My mom didn’t knit, my aunts didn’t, and at school there was only one teacher who taught us. So I had to learn most of it by myself. Lucky for me, was my mom very encouraging, and she always provided me with yarn, needles and patterns. She also bought me pamphlets and books where I could see how to do it.

But now, when I was out walking with Fleur and having very cold ears, I thought it would be a great idea to finally make myself a hat. And I knew immediately what hat it was going to be. In a swap I received a beautiful skein of Madeline Tosh yarn in a Ice blue shade. The pattern I used was Stella.

It’s a very quick knit, so it was finished within a day. Perfect!

Don't you just love Madelinetosh yarns? So soft and cozy. Hope you make a couple more for yourself.
