It’s a wrap

Hello, how nice of you to stop by. And thank you for your comments. I always love to read them; they are a kind of bonus for blogging.

A couple of years ago, I wanted to learn how to knit with 2 strands; the Fair Isle technique. So I started a kind of sampler, using patterns from Alice Starmore’s  Book of Fair Isle Knitting.

After a number of patterns, I knew how to knit this way, and I started to work on other projects, leaving this sampler in a dark corner of a drawer. When I started to work on my new Bird Jacket, I remembered about this sampler, and I thought it would be a good idea to finish that one first. So I knitted some patterns extra, until the length  was about 165 cm, and with the Kitchener stitch I joined top and bottom

So, now I have this super warm infinity scarf. I used only 4 colours, (blue, green, yellow and pink), and every colour in 3 shades; light, medium and dark. This gave me more than enough options to vary, without becoming messy, but holding its balance.

Never thought I would say this, but now I’m looking forward to a very cold winter!

  1. Dorien, this one is fantastic, I love it's folksy look and all of the detail with colour. I will remember what you have said about using limited colours in different shades..a very handy hint. Wishing you all the merriest of Christmasses!
