Hello! Sorry for not blogging for more than a week. First I was working on an order which had to be finished (sorry, no pics).
After that, I thought it would be a good idea, to go through my wardrobe. I knew that I didn’t have that much, and that a lot of my clothes had better days, but the result was quite scary. Because I thought it was time to be tough, I threw out everything torn, too small (too big doesn’t happen anymore!) and I ended up with a pile of clothes which would fit in a not too big a suitcase.
So, my task was clear: I needed to get me some new clothes. And I know a lot of ladies like to go shopping, but I’m not one of them. When I go into town, I always have a shopping list and that’s what I’m going to look for. Nothing else.
But there is one kind of store I love: the fabric store. So that is where I went and for a start I bought two fabrics to make two blouses/tunics.
I used a pattern that I’ve used before, and this kind of blouse makes me happy; it’s comfortable and easy to wear. Exactly how I like it.
The fabrics couldn’t have been more different from each other. And that’s something else I like about making my own clothes. Once you have a favorite pattern, you can easily use it time and again with different fabrics, colors, prints, etcetera, without it getting boring.
So for the first blouse I used a cotton, looking like linen with huge flowers. Looking at the fabric closely, like in the first picture, you only see a vague, blurry amount of colors, but from a distance big flowers emerge.
The second blouse is totally different. The fabric is a plaid, with unusual colors and butterflies. It’s very lively, plain cotton.

Prachtig! Allebei uniek in hun eigen soort. Je ziet bijna niet dat het twee keer hetzelfde patroon is!
ReplyDeleteMooi, de bloezen! Ja, ze lijken me inderdaad heel comfortabel. Hetzelfde patroon, maar zo verschillend. Net zoiets als met quilts (o:
ReplyDeleteHi Dorien! Your new shirts are so beutiful! I should do the same 'cleaning' but I just can't get myself into that. I guess I would end up also with a little suitcase. Enjoy your spring with your new lovely outfits! x Teje
ReplyDeleteLovely shirts! What is your pattern? It looks really good.
