What do you do when the weather has decided to change into a kind of Summer when it actually should be Fall? Of course be outside as much as possible! So that is what I have been doing the last week. But then in the evenings, I really like to sit on the couch with a new knitting-project. I decided on this cardigan from Drops. I love the shape of it, and since it has been quite some time since I made something with cables, it kind of called my name! The pattern can be found here.
Instead of the brown used in the example, I decided on a dark-grey colour.
The yarn, Drops Alaska is quite heavy, but works beautifully.
On Ravelry I’ve seen discussions about the errors in Drops patterns. Over the years I’ve knitted quite a number of their patterns, and it is true that there is an error in most of them. But by carefully reading the whole pattern, I think it is possible to adjust the pattern where necessary, and in the end I’ve always been happy with the result.

Ik vind het ontzettend knap, dat je aan zoiets begint. Wat zal die mooi zijn, als die eenmaal af is.
ReplyDeleteHeerlijk hé, dit weertje. Wordt straks weer wennen ...
Hi Dorien! I'm always so happy to find your post! That cardigan is going to be wonderful! I love cabels but also I have long time since I have knitted them. That pettern is beautiful and your grey colour so lovely!

Wat een geweldig vest gaat dat worden. Heel leuk met die brede kabels. Heel knap hoor dat je dat kan. Ben benieuwd als het af is.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Hoe gaat het met je logé')(_&%$#"!;,: sorry maar het vraagteken staat ergens anders en ik kan het niet vinden.

Looks absolutely lovely! :D
ReplyDeleteWise words from you today, Dorien. Your new knitting is shaping up nicely and grey is such a versatile colour. I adore your little Dutch styled mug rug too and like your explanation of a cosy home as well.
ReplyDeleteI love that cardi, it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI made a beautiful Drops cardigan which turned out perfectly, I wouldn't know if the pattern is wrong just by reading through it I'm not that good at knitting, when it all goes wrong my Mum sorts it out for me!
Ik had dit vest ook al voorbij zien komen op ravelry. Dat gaat prachtig worden, ben heel erg benieuwd naar het eindresultaat. Veel plezier met breien! Groetjes, Linda
