A new Treasure

In Spring, a lot of women are going to clean their house. Not really a habit I have, but my mother in law certainly does it. And this time, she decided not only to clean, but also to get rid of a lot of stuff she doesn’t use anymore. Including a lot of books. And look what she gave me!

Mostly books about embroidery, and since I’ve always loved samplers, she couldn’t have made me happier.

I really love the richness of a sampler like this; all the colours and flowers, and those beautiful little birds.

In one of the books there was a picture to drool over.

Isn’t this the most amazing embroidery?

It has been a long time, since I did some embroidery myself, but now I couldn’t resist anymore. So I took out my floss and fabric, and just started.

I don’t have a clue yet, what it is going to become. It was just so nice to sit on the couch doing this. I forgot how relaxing this is!

  1. And so pretty as well as relaxing! I used to do quite a lot of cross stitch at one stage and made several pictures.

  3. Hi Dorien! I can imagine how happy you were getting all those treasures! For me that's unknown 'craft', but I would love to try. I'm sure when you start you can't stop!
Have a lovely stitching time! xxx Teje

  4. Oh wat ben je lekker verwend, leuk hoor. Bijzonder he, dat die oude patronen altijd leuk blijven (al dan niet in een ander kleurtje of met een andere toepassing).
